FAQ – Reverse eAuctions

SalvageSettlers provides an online marketplace for the trade of goods and services using Forward and Reverse eAuction facilities and Classified Listings, with trading taking place via the SalvageSettlers.com website.

For sellers, online forward auctions and classified listings open up new sales channels for their products, whilst offering buyers fast and easy access to a range of items and favourable purchasing conditions. For buyers of goods and services, the reverse auction facility enables fast and cost-effective procurement.

In a Forward eAuction, items are offered by a seller, whilst the bidders are buyers. Buyers bid in specified increments to win the auction and purchase the item. The highest bidder wins. In a Reverse eAuction, the buyer is using the auction to purchase goods or services and invites suppliers to bid. The bidders in a Reverse eAuction offer increasingly lower prices at which they are willing to provide the goods or services. In a Reverse eAuction, the lowest price wins - hence the name, Reverse eAuction.

Our eAuctions are managed end-to-end by SalvageSettlers. SalvageSettlers reviews and uploads the auction details, specifications and T&Cs, makes markets for the auction and oversees the auction.

All registered users of SalvageSettlers.com, with a valid email address and internet access, can participate in a Reverse eAuction. However, prior to registering with SalvageSettlers, the user must be a pre-approved supplier to the buyer (customer) for the buyer's auctions.

To participate, you will need to register with SalvageSettlers.com.
